Amazing Race Star and Chippendale Jaymes Vaughan Releases NEW Single

Usually I get “A Little Help From My Friends” on my blog site. This time, I want to get the word out about one of my friends and help him during a difficult time. Jaymes Vaughan is an inspiration. He was on the TV show Amazing Race last season, he hoped to win the million dollars to help his Dad’s battle with cancer. Team Chippendales came in second place.

Since then, he has set up a website, held fundraisers, and traveled nationally to tell his story.  His Dad’s medications are really expensive, he needs the funds to help him and raise awareness.

In the midst of all this, he continues to work on his passion for music. His new single just came out, while he is out of town, tending to his Dad.

Jaymes Vaughan, gained massive popularity as runner-up on the reality game show where he was racing to win one million dollars to help his father battle a very rare form of cancer. Falling just short of reaching that goal, and finishing second, he came back determined to do whatever he can to still raise money for his Dad. His latest effort, his brand new single, “TONIGHT.”

“TONIGHT” is an up-tempo club-ready dance track that combines the talents of Mega-Producer Tanzer, Puerto Rican pop vocalist Lily, and Chippendale and Reality TV Star, Jaymes Vaughan.

“I was so excited about this song when we went in to record it. I absolutely love it and feel like I’ve got a track that really reflects where I want to be musically. Plus I got to work with some amazingly talented people” says Vaughan.

However that excitement quickly turned to worry when his father’s cancer took a very sudden and unexpected turn just two weeks ago.

Up against a release date that had been predetermined months earlier, he initially wanted to pull the plug on the song.

“With the the progression of my father’s illness all of a sudden requiring round the clock supervision, I knew I couldn’t devote the time and energy needed to properly promote the song” says Vaughan.

But after painful deliberation he decided maybe it was actually perfect timing after all.

“The song is all about making the most of one night and I think that’s actually pretty fitting right now. Make the most of every moment you got” says Vaughan.

And in a time that he hoped he’d never see come, it’s a welcome distraction.

“No matter what your troubles are, no matter what situation you are in, go take three minutes to put on the song, and just dance. Cause sometimes, everybody just needs a little escape” he adds.

“TONIGHT” is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers. Vaughan’s proceeds from the song will help with his father’s fight against cancer.

Men On A Mission: Forget Cancer Now

A man on a mission. Help from his friends. Jaymes Vaughan is working around the clock to raise money to keep his Dad’s cancer treatments going. He wants his Dad to feel taken care of, and safe. Vaughan and fellow Chippendale, James Davis were on this season of The Amazing Race. The finale aired last weekend, Jaymes and James came in 2nd place.

They didn’t win the million dollars they had hoped for, but… they DID win the hearts of people around the world.  The entire season, the two said they were in the race to win a million dollars, and give it to Jaymes’ Dad. That was the goal. When they came in second, they were gracious, emotional, and appreciative of the opportunity. This did not go unnoticed.

I was with the two on finale day, and last night at a fundraising event at The Act at The Palazzo. I have never seen anything like it. Focused  Prepared. Lap top open, phone charged for tweeting. Press in the early morning, fundraising until 3 a.m. – they are committed and they have hearts of gold. They are so appreciative of every single dollar that is donated to help Ed Vaughan.  Just one prescription cost $2,500.

On The Amazing Race, the duo did win a pair of Ford vehicles. James Davis really wanted to win one for his mother who needs a car. He told me he got all the information this week and his Mom will be able to pick out what she wants at the dealer near her home. He was thrilled! I could feel his excitement.

Last night’s fundraiser was called KISS FOR A CURE. It was organized by friend Bryan Chan to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Forget Cancer Now. What a great night. Friends, locals, and many of Jaymes and James’ fans came to The Act to show support and donate. Fellow Amazing Race contestant, Lexi Beerman was there too. There were performances by Fantasy’s Lorena Peril, The Las Vegas Tenors, The Show in The Sky, and more.

Hats off to Jaymes and James. They are the real deal. There is no denying the two men are gorgeous and fit. It’s part of their profession. But, it’s heartwarming to see them support each other, and be proud to show love for their family and friends. It’s contagious, really.
