So Much to Talk About, Viva Las Vegas!

I am getting ready to move. I’ve been bringing you these amazing pictures from my windows for more than a year. I love Las Vegas and I love this view, but I’m also excited to change my environment. Change is good. I love the feel of a new space!! It’s close enough to where I live now, and it will bring along a new incredible view.

I live on the strip, and I have noticed it’s been pretty busy. That is a good thing. Tourists everywhere. It seems we are slowly but surely getting back to business in Las Vegas. Speaking of the strip. Boy, it’s been a busy two weeks with show openings.

Of course I can’t miss a beat. I wanted to give you a quick rundown.

Two shows that amazed me were VERONIC VOICES and Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque Du Soleil. Two great shows which have now joined The Entertainment Capital Of The World.

ONE, is absolutely amazing. I loved every single minute and never wanted it to end. Thank GOODNESS, Cirque did this one right. The Immortal Tour show was disappointing to me. I didn’t like it. This show at Mandalay Bay is incredible. I want to go back again and again. It gave me chills, and the message was also very inspiring. A stage full of talent and one Michael Jackson hit after the other. You must see this show!

I’m not really sure there is a bad seat in the house because so much is happening, so keep that in mind. I sat second row and loved being up close, but sitting up top would have been just as good.

I had no idea what VERONIC Voices was going to be all about. I knew she impersonated singers and that’s about it. This show is co-produced by Celine Dion herself. She was at the opening at Bally’s Las Vegas. What a show! This is Veronic’s first U.S. show. She’s French Canadian.

She was fabulous. She sang Norah Jones, Adele, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Annie Lenox, and so many more. She had fun with it, which I loved. Did she sound spot on like every single person she sang? No. But she was close and on target with most. She has an incredible voice, great personality, her dancers are amazing, and the stage lights and sets complimented her. She ended with a standing ovation.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is still on at The Venetian. I hear it’s closing early because of low ticket sales and competition from Cirque’s summer discount tickets. I enjoyed the show. It was fun, and over the top. Humorous. The music was familiar and the story was good. I can see though, that it’s a tough show to generate wide appeal. Tourists and locals have so much choice here.

Off the strip, I was honored to be one of the hosts of the first ever “The Best of Silver State Awards.” I co-hosted with Nina Radetich and Chris Saldana. It was nice to honor hotels, shows, real estate, doctors, small businesses, and more. It was held at the Summerlin Performing Arts Center.

It’s been a pretty active couple of months. I also had a great Fourth of July. It was HOT, but fun.

Have I told you lately? I love Las Vegas. šŸ˜‰

The Entertainment Capital of The World. That’s for sure!

Wow, what a busy week in Las Vegas entertainment. Especially on the strip. I was lucky enough to attend THREE big events.

One, was the opening of a new show at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Million Dollar Quartet is inspired by the extraordinary true story of the fateful evening that brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together for one of the greatest rock ā€˜nā€™ roll jam sessions in history.

I LOVED this show! The actors were all amazing, I felt an emotional connection. All the performers had beautiful voices that emulated their characters perfectly. I enjoyed the entire production.

The ending gave me chills.

Thursday, Mandalay Bay released details of the much anticipated Cirque Du Soleil Michael Jackson show coming this summer. The Estate of Michael Jackson, Cirque, and Mandalay were all on hand to announce the dates and NAME of the show.

Performers were also there at the media conference to help present the name. 63 performers will be included in the production titled MICHAEL JACKSON ONE.

Preview performances start on May 23rd with its official premiere on June 29, 2013. The director, Jamie King, says the show will be different than the top grossing Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour.

The name ONE was chosen because Michael Jackson believed that all people are unique and equal, regardless of race or culture.

Check out some video I shot at the media conference. The dancers are so talented. This clip will get you excited to see the show this summer:

Friday night, Smokey Robinson presents Human Nature opened at The Venetian. The show has been on the Las Vegas strip for sometime now, but just recently moved to The Venetian. Motown legend, Smokey Robinson was on hand for the media night show and party. He joined the foursome on stage at the end of the show too (see video below)!

Energetic show full of talent and memories!

The new set adds a lot to the show. It was designed by Andy Wamsley, who couldn’t be more proud of how it all turned out.

Another highlight of the night was when Human Nature pulled an audience member from the crowd to sing a few lines of “My Girl” with them up on stage. It happened to be singer Deniece Williams (Let’s Hear It For The Boy)… she wowed the audience when she chimed in with her amazing vocals. Again, watch the video below, I was rolling!

No doubt, Las Vegas is the place to be for great entertainment. The talent never ceases to amaze me. What a fun, exciting week. Most of these performers are Las Vegas residents too.

Welcome to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world.Ā
